New in North Carolina
« on: July 11, 2010, 10:00:09 AM »
Hi,

I'm April and I would like to start dumpster diving.  I'm a single parent with a teenager and will be going back to school this fall.  I live in Claremont, NC near Hickory.  Anyone near me?

I'm still looking for someone to dive with.  My 14 yr old has been going with me.  Would be easier to have another adult to share driving.  Been going to some shopping centers.  I'm not used to this much walking.  Haven't found a lot yet.  I have found, pretty flower painting ( glass slightly cracked), steel poles which I'm going to use to hang birdfeeders in my yard, a lot of different sized wheels, cantelopes and watermelons.  Free fruit, yea.  I didn't get fruit at the store lately b/c of prices and looking bad.

Keep looking. Soon you'll have a "dump" schedule set up.

hi. I am a total noob. Hubby works out of Claremont. I am in Maiden. I am not free most evenings, no sitter but really am curious about what treasures I can find.

One way to find out RED.
-You pray to Jesus, he mows my lawn.
-Smart divers don't smoke their dumpstered profits, they "roll" them over.
-Your job does not compute to your intelligence.
-Most likely you suck

was out shopping with the kids and scoped some locations just to see what kind of diving places available. Couple unlocked, ungated, no camera places around. hmmmm, now to figure out when/how to get out of house.

Hubby works away from home so is only home weekends. 3 kids at home, I don't leave them alone, esp at night.

What ages are your kids?  I don't leave my 14 yr old alone either.  He goes with me and he loves dumpster diving, especially since we've been finding canteloupe and watermelon.  I have learned not to go Sunday night though.  The work people hang around the outside of the store talking.  My son keeps asking when we're going again but don't want to go alone.

13, 10, 1 year. The 13 year old has taken a babysitter course and is CPR certified so I will let her watch the little one but it does not work so well with her watching her 10 yo brother.
