My grandson was just recently diagnosed with verbal Apraxia and mild Autism. I saw this video about it, and was wondering if any of you have found one a (touch ipod) and would like to donate it to my grandson Liam.
We would really appreciate it. And God Bless you for it. He is 4 years old and does not talk.

Here is a picture of my grandson.

And his first day at school.

And here is the video I learned a touch I pod could help him.

Absolutely fantastic!  I know a 13 year old autistic girl who does not speak.....but she can operated the TV and microwave.  Can't follow directions, but simple commands like get your coat, put on your shoes, buckle your seatbelt are followed.  I wonder if the Ipod would work for her....  She doesn't listen as well as the kids in the video, but you never know when something will click.  Know for a fact she is frustrated.

Any child not speaking about 20 words by age 2 (even if they are only understood by parents) should be tested.  School for early special ed often can start for kids as young as 2 1/2 to give them a head start if extensive training is needed, or at least to make sure they are school ready.

I bet it would help. Well I am so glad I stumbled on that piece. I hope it is a help. Also researching in youtubo fish oil helps the autistic and apraxia.

I looked at the video & saw that the school provided it. Is he enrolled in a public school?  Can they provide or request donations?  There's an organization called Donors Choose where teachers can post supplies, books, whatnot from their wishlist & people from the general public choose which request they would like to fund.  At my son's school they asked for a reading center for the library, asked parents to fund & it was paid up that day.

Not to be a dick, but why don't you just go buy him one? Seriously? They are less then $200 brand new. This isn't something that is overly expensive or anything.

Typical Americans.... I have a problem, so I expect people to give me things instead of working hard and earning them themselves.

I could fully understand this if it was something that was thousands of dollars or more and could improve the child's life. But a $200 item, come on. Go on ebay and buy one with your CC and get the rewards from that and use bing.com for the 8% rebate through PayPal. And use a bigcrumbs account or something similar to get more cash back. Bam, you've got the item down to like $150-160.

Illtaketwo,
My medicines take all of my whopping 67.00 a month ss disability and half my husbands. We would jump to buy him one if it were possible.

My husband and I helped many when we could.

Thank you Lethal!

Illtaketwo,

My husband cared for his mother as she was blind for the last 40 yrs. He worked hard for her and her rental homes. She died at the age of 102.

What happened to us was my husbands older half brother misused his POA & moms signature stamp and converted half a million dollars of property to himself, my husband and his mother and I were generous philanthropists. My husband  bought computers for 4 different people that I know of. Cars and a home for someone.

He ( the brother in law) was also trusted with the bank password  and he closed that account after taking hundreds of thousands of dollars out. We had to hire a lawyer and we won 5 judgements against him and got 3 houses back.

He died before we could collect the judgements and left  it all to my husbands cousin.

We had to sell the 3rd house to pay for our lawyer who worked for us for 2  yrs. $33.000.00

The brother in law got pancreatic cancer and died last Nov. He was diagnosed with it after he kicked his mother out of her own home in 05 she was 98 then. He was diagnosed in 06. Keep in mind she also bought him a home right next to hers.

I do take offense at your reply. Please dont assume that my husband and I are idiots with no for thought to our future.

We are however believers God is good, that goodness reaps goodness! The good that we did will come back to us.
For all the thieving he ( brother in law) did, he didnt get to enjoy a bit of it!!! Guess what, couldnt take it with him either.

And had to meet his maker in this state of lack of honoring his mother. And this huge reversal of fortune. The stealing of my husbands inheritance.

Vengeance is Gods after all!  In my eyes thats PRICELESS!

And btw we are far from "Typical Americans"

Our second home is being occupied free of rent to my husbands nephew who was hit by a drunk driver. It is in our hearts to do good to all that we can.
